Construction projects are complex undertakings. They involve a wide range of activities, built under unique circumstances, delivered by multiple parties who may have never worked together before, facing challenges that are unforeseen - all governed by independent contracts.

If the drafting of these documents is not coordinated, contain poorly defined scope of services, do not clearly define roles and responsibilities or they are not administered correctly then the successful completion of the project is at risk; it may not meet a Client’s expectations, relationships can sour and the risk of unnecessary claims increases significantly.

Pre-construction

  • Analysis of project scope/documentation

  • Analysis of proposed delivery method and procurement strategy. Provide guidance on alternative methods.

  • Identify and define KPI’s

  • Assist with drafting of contractual documents

  • Draft supporting procurement documents

  • Assistance with contract negotiations

Construction

  • Review and certify interim payment applications

  • Review, negotiate and certify any change order requests

  • Draft and maintain records of contractual communications

  • Tracking of forecast final account

  • Participate in regular KPI reviews

  • Assistance with auditing of vendors compliance with the contract

  • Assistance with negotiation and settlement of disputes/contractual claims

Handover & Closeout

  • Negotiation and settlement of any outstanding/disputed items

  • Assist with any dispute resolution

  • Closeout of the final account
